Day Something or Other

This literally just happened! I came up from doing laundry and was about to go to sleep when i heard rustling from my apt living room.  It was coming from one of my collection boxes that i was working with and low and behold, it was a cecropia moth emerged from it's diapause! I have no idea how, but it survived winter more or less in my apt.  And now i've taken all the other cocoons out just in case they all decide to emerge in the next couple of weeks.  This. is. Awesome.  Nicer pictures to come.

Collage Class

I'm taking a collage class so i figured i'd post the first collages of this sort that i've done. All done on illustration board with national geographic magazine images and thick acrylic gel medium (matte finish). Also just letting everyone know I'm horribly stressed with my BFA exhibit piece coming up in March. As i get closer to the date, hopefully i'll have finished more of my piece and make it more public.
